MOFAD Is Hiring For its African/American: Making the Nation’s Table Exhibition

MOFAD is hiring three positions to help with our upcoming exhibition African/American: Making the Nation’s Table, the country’s first major exhibition to celebrate African American contributions to American cuisine. Read more about the positions below.

Curatorial Associates

MOFAD is seeking two individuals to assist with creating our next exhibition, African/American: Making the Nation’s Table. This will be the country’s first major exhibition to recognize how African Americans have laid the foundation for American food culture. It will celebrate the contributions of countless black chefs, farmers, and food and drink producers who have been written out of history — providing recognition that is long overdue.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until Friday, August 23rd. Applicants must be able to start on Tuesday, September 3rd. These are temporary (seven-month), full-time salaried positions with benefits including subsidized individual health insurance, monthly MetroCard, and two-weeks paid vacation.

Development Associate 

MOFAD is seeking a part-time Development Associate to support MOFAD’s fundraising for African/American: Making the Nation’s Table, the country’s first major exhibition to celebrate African American contributions to American cuisine. Ideally, the candidate will be a top-notch writer, have excellent social acumen with potential donors and partners, and have at least one year of experience in communications or fundraising.

This is a full-time salaried position with benefits including subsidized individual health insurance, a monthly MetroCard, and two-weeks paid vacation.
